Arts Therapy UK
"I believe that art in Healthcare has the power to transform people’s lives positively. I have experienced the benefits whilst working with seniors who have Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s, and Advanced Dementia." - Orinta Pranaityte
I’m a creative individual, whose lived in England for 21 years, and I’m proud to say that my roots are originally from Lithuania. I emigrated to live in England from a young age, where I received all of my education (from Primary School up to University level). I studied a versatile and creative BA Hons Degree at the University of Lincoln, and I gained my Master's Degree in Fine Art (2017).
Creativity in Hospitals
Having developed a talent at an early age, and throughout life, I continued to master the skills so that I can help others! My real journey in creative arts projects began with soundLINCS (Music Development Non-Profit Organization) in 2016. I worked for six months at Lincoln County Hospital (NHS), with the Music Facilitators and Rhubarb Theatre Company. It was an amazing experience to be in the peadiatrics ward and to transform the Rainforest playroom into a sensory environment for the children.
Arts Therapy & Healthcare Interest
After years of developing my art skills, I started to focus on Health & Social Care in 2019. I concentrated on improving and maintaining the healthy well-being of the seniors in weekly Arts & Crafts classes, transforming the environment with artwork, and working on interactive mandala arts projects (Arts for Health, Milton Keynes University Hospital). For my commitment, perseverance, and high-quality of work, I received the GEM Award (for Going the Extra Mile).
Education & Language Teaching
My interest in Education and teaching English started back in 2020. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, I was offered a full-time job abroad at Hermann-Lietz Boarding School in Haubinda, Germany. As an English Assistant & Substitute House Parent of six German school girls, I helped students with their English, substituted classes and supported students in their daily school life. In 2021, I’m passionate to continue working in Education and to combine my skills and knowledge in creativity with language teaching!
